Micro Duck Fabric (Polyester Duck) (Great Alternative to Twill or Denim) 100% Polyester 60" wide $6.99/yard These are Duck Fabrics in a polyester microfiber. They have a plain (square) weave and are lighter in weight than traditional 100% cotton denims, twills and ducks but are very strong. Although not entirely waterproof, they are water resistant and wrinkle resistant. Even when a piece is placed in water for a time, it seems to resist absorption and to dry quickly so this would appear to be a good choice for furniture for a screened porch and other sheltered outdoor uses. It is also good for signs, temporary awnings, bags and more. It is not intended for extended outdoor use. This fabric would also be excellent for slipcovers, upholstery, draperies; tablecloths and many other uses. Care: We washed and dried several pieces of this fabric. The ones without a latex backing seemed to fray so you would want to finish cut edges to resist fraying. The ones with a latex backing had very little fraying but finishing the edges is recommended as is drying them on low to avoid damaging the backing.
